Steve Keller is an audio alchemist, adept at blending art and science into award-winning audio strategies and creative content for a long list of global agencies and brands. In 2005, Steve founded iV, an audio brand consultancy based in Nashville that specializes in the strategy, content, research and management necessary for successful audio branding initiatives. Today, iV‘s reach extends beyond the the United States, with extensive work for clients in Europe and the UK.

Recognized as one of the foremost experts in the field of audio branding, Steve is driven by his passion to explore the power of sound and how it shapes perception and influences behavior. Recent experiments include an examination of the relationship between sound and taste (conducted with Oxford’s Crossmodal Research Laboratory, demonstrating the ability to change expectations and perceptions of the level of spiciness in food through a customized, crossmodally congruent soundscape) and an exploration into the existence of audio archetypes (conducted with Goldsmiths University, demonstrating that music can be employed as a coding system within semiotics to evoke certain types of meaning). Steve is also a part of the think tank serving Chef Jozef Youssef’s London based Kitchen Theory, lending his sonic expertise to the development of gastrophysic experiences for brands and consumers alike.

In addition to a degree in Psychology with a focus on research, social psychology, and group dynamics, Steve has over 25 years of experience in the music industry as a producer, remixer, composer, independent label executive, music publisher and manager. He’s an in-demand speaker, sharing his insights at international conferences (TEDx, MIDEM, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Eurobest, Dubai Lynx, Transform Hong Kong, Transform London, Neuromarketing World Forum), professional organizations (AMA, AAF, Audio Branding Academy) and universities.

Forever the student, he is the 2017 recipient of the iHeartMedia Scholarship for Leadership in Audio Innovation, and is currently completing an Executive MBA through the Berlin School of Creative Leadership.

When not bouncing back and forth between Nashville and Frankfurt, Steve enjoys photography, gastronomy, and exploring the relationship between chaos and creativity.
